At the decaying Hotel Iris on Taiwan's coast, a frigid Japanese woman named Nahana manages the establishment alongside her isolated half-Taiwanese daughter, Mari (Lucia). One fateful night, Mari hears a woman's desperate cries from above and investigates, only to witness a frantic woman flee from a sharply dressed yet menacing man (NAGASE Masatoshi). Intrigued rather than terrified, Mari becomes drawn to him—learning he is a reclusive translator linked to recent local murders on a remote island. As she delves deeper into his world, Mari uncovers hidden facets of her own identity through his unsettling allure.
