Andy "Brink" Brinker, along with his friends Peter, Jordy, and Gabriella, proudly skate as "Soul-Skaters," thriving on the joy of the sport rather than financial gain. Their passion brings them into conflict with the slick, sponsored skaters of Team X-Bladz, headed by the ambitious Val, at their Southern California high school. When Brink learns of his family's dire financial situation, he makes the tough decision to join Team X-Bladz, defying his friends and parents.
