Set against the backdrop of the open sea in 1996, Joel, a devout Filipino sailor, stumbles upon Dumitru, a Romanian stowaway, while on watch aboard a transatlantic ship. Fearing for Dumitru's life if discovered by the Taiwanese crew, Joel chooses to conceal him, motivated by his faith. As tensions rise, a perilous game of cat and mouse unfolds. Isolated and betrayed by his crew and even his beliefs, Joel must confront the stark reality of his choices and the harsh consequences that follow, ultimately facing his fate alone.
