Father Rupert Mayer (Oliver Gruber), a World War I veteran decorated with the Iron Cross, dedicated his life to the Eastern Front, where he lost a leg in combat. During World War II, he boldly delivered sermons denouncing the Third Reich. Despite warnings to cease his anti-Nazi messages, he was imprisoned three times, enduring harsh treatment under the Nazi regime. With the support of a fellow Jewish inmate (Michael Mendl), Father Mayer found the strength to continue his fight for human rights. His unwavering commitment ultimately led to his imprisonment in Sachsenhausen concentration camp.
