Father Ángel de la Cruz, inspired by the controversial founder of the Legion of Christ, Marcial Maciel, leads a haunting exploration of faith and manipulation. Through the innocent perspective of 13-year-old Julián, the narrative unfolds as he leaves his nurturing family for the rigid environment of a seminary. Father Ángel takes a special interest in Julián, designating him as his cherished disciple and renaming him “Sacramento Santos.” As he immerses Julián in the doctrine of “perfect obedience,” the chilling lesson becomes clear: never challenge authority, no matter the cost.
