Rikiya Shoda, an engineer at Japan's Atomic Agency, finds his life upended when his wife, Nanako, brings home a troubled teenager named Ayu. Claiming to be her father, a man arrives to reclaim her, but Ayu insists that Rikiya and Nanako are her true parents. As this family conflict unfolds, Rikiya is jolted into a vivid recollection of his own radical past, grappling with the choices he made during his youth. The encounter forces him to confront his ideals and the impact of his present life on his family.
