In a remote Canadian mountain town, tragedy strikes when a school bus accident claims the lives of over a dozen children. In the wake of this calamity, a city lawyer comes to assist the grieving families in filing a class-action lawsuit. However, his presence exacerbates the rifts within the community instead of uniting them. Concurrently, a teenage survivor grapples with the profound loss of innocence that accompanies the emotional scars left by the disaster, facing her own journey of healing amidst the overwhelming sorrow.
