While attending a farmer's convention in Milwaukee, Charles and Caroline reconnect with some old classmates. Charles discovers that bigger farming operations are attempting to drive his small-farming friends out of business, and he encourages them to fight for their livelihoods. At the same time, Caroline feels a pang of jealousy over the wealth of their former peers, but she soon realizes that the reality behind their success is far more complex than it appears.
