Besides these allegations, his only apparent fault is being married to Operations' "widow," Corinne, the woman he was wed to when he "died" during his recruitment. Madeline, disguising herself as Corinne's new therapist, and Michael, also posing as a therapist, manipulate Corinne’s mental state with a dangerously addictive drug, driving her to instability. They also alter a videotape to suggest Nikolai is having an affair with Nikita. Ultimately, the mission profile indicates that Corinne will take her husband's life.
