Sam is thrilled to be hosting a high-profile billionaire (guest star Dean Cain) at the Montecito, but her excitement is short-lived as she delegates her other clients to Mary and Delinda. Chaos ensues when Mary’s wealthy clients are caught rigging horse races, prompting Danny to rush to her assistance. Meanwhile, Sam's world crumbles when she discovers that the billionaire is actually her estranged husband, whom she hasn't seen in seven years. In a parallel storyline, Ed faces jury duty on Valentine's Day, much to the dismay of Jillian (Cheryl Ladd), who believes he’s intentionally avoiding the holiday. Despite his attempts to be excused, the judge denies his request, leaving Ed to rely on Mike to manage the Montecito.
