Host Kevin O'Connor assists general contractor Tom Silva in constructing a small deck that will link the kitchen and patio. Meanwhile, landscape contractor Roger Cook collaborates with homeowner Bill Pierce to install concrete pavers for the new patio area. Tile expert Catherine Mitchell presents Kevin with various choices for white subway tile to use as the kitchen backsplash. In the newly designed library, flooring contractor Patrick Hunt demonstrates to master carpenter Norm Abram how he is fitting new oak flooring to blend seamlessly with the home's existing floors. Kevin later rejoins Roger to finalize the patio, applying polymeric sand, compacting it, and adding water to secure everything in place.
