Jack and Diane are assigned to create biography projects about one another, and Diane opts to film a documentary showcasing Jack's emerging basketball journey. Although Jack shines in recreational basketball, his parents, Dre and Bow, discover travel basketball—a more competitive league where aspiring pros begin—and manage to enroll him. However, Jack quickly finds himself outmatched by his new, highly skilled teammates, leading to him spending most of the time on the bench, much to his parents' disappointment. Meanwhile, Junior takes on the role of a referee, pushing his authority a bit too far, while Zoey encounters a potential romantic interest on the court.
