Joan is especially furious when Monica persuades William to break his promise to appoint her as co-counsel on a major case, claiming it would enhance his reputation if he took it on alone. Seeking payback against William, Joan rallies the others to confront Monica. Meanwhile, Toni continues to bump into Dr. Todd Garrett, a plastic surgeon with whom she shares chemistry, but she hesitates to pursue a relationship due to his shorter stature.
