Recently laid off, Joan is restless and annoys her friends with her incessant cooking and knitting. Seeking purpose, she lands a job at Wienercycle, despite her friends’ warnings that it’s a poor choice. Initially hesitant to quit, she finds motivation in the confident teenage shift manager and decides to stay on. Joan attempts to justify her strange choices as dedication, but she soon realizes that the manager isn’t as passionate about the job as she pretends to be. Meanwhile, William irritates Toni, Lynn, and Maya with his expensive $6000 pen, leading Toni to steal it, much to the delight of her friends as they watch William’s frantic search.
