As millions escape the country amid harrowing accounts of war crimes emerging from the capital, Elbagir seeks to highlight these atrocities and explore how the Sudanese people are managing. She begins her journey at a refugee camp near the southern border, where close to 2.8 million have fled. Venturing north into the conflict-ridden regions of Sudan, she aims for Khartoum, her family’s home and one of the main conflict zones. Her path is fraught with peril as she navigates dangerous checkpoints to evade paramilitary forces that oppose her presence in Sudan.
