However, with the restoration of Charles II, the monarchy returned, reigniting a fervent, sometimes obsessive, love for art. Gradually, new artworks were acquired, and some were returned out of fear of consequences. The Royal Collection was revitalized. Andrew Graham-Dixon narrates the incredible revival of the Royal Collection, tracing its journey from Charles II to the 18th century, highlighting the enlightened acquisitions of George III.
