Sacrifice (S01E08)

The annual journey to Uppsala to express gratitude to the gods stirs deep feelings for Ragnar, Lagertha, and Athelstan. As Ragnar drifts further from Lagertha, he seeks solace in coming to terms with the loss of their unborn child. Meanwhile, Lagertha, grappling with her own grief, yearns to learn from the gods whether she will have more sons. As the Vikings unite to offer sacrifices and show their appreciation, Athelstan begins to realize the enduring strength of his Christian beliefs.
