Claude's old friend Ellen Highwater comes to stay with him for a short time. Initially, he enjoys her cooking and cleaning, but soon, her behavior becomes a bit excessive. She not only takes some of his money for groceries but also suggests getting a kennel for Alfred! Meanwhile, 'Sweaty Betty' is on a mission against Special Constable Cowley, who has gone missing under mysterious circumstances. Although she becomes a suspect, Nick is taken aback when she claims she has an alibi, saying she was with her 'boyfriend' that night. In another twist, Jo faces eviction from her cottage when her dad can't renew the lease, but Maggie generously offers her a room in her house.
