Lelouch faces Clovis regarding the assassination of his mother, Marianne vi Britannia, ultimately ending Clovis's life. Upon returning to Ashford Academy, he realizes that Kallen Kōzuki, one of the insurgents he aided in Shinjuku, is a fellow student. As he tries to interrogate her and wipe her memory, he learns the limits of his newly acquired powers. To dispel her doubts about who he really is, he devises a clever ruse. Meanwhile, the news of Prince Clovis's death breaks, and Suzaku Kururugi finds himself blamed for the murder.
