As Carrie and Doug gear up for tax season, they realize their charity contributions are lacking. To alleviate their guilt over what they perceive as a year of "selfish living," they choose to donate to the local children's library at Deacon’s son’s school. However, Carrie's desire for recognition begins to overshadow the genuine joy of giving. When the school mistakenly believes they donated $500 instead of $50, Doug and Carrie rush to maintain the honor without actually having to increase their donation.
