Coach Riley harbors a deep affection for Marylin Sudor, but he hesitates to approach her due to their differing backgrounds. When he and Buttle ask Marylin about her feelings concerning white men, she mistakenly believes Coach is interested in Marla instead. This misinterpretation leads to Riley's "crush" on Marla being highlighted on Sheryl Holt's website, igniting Ms. Hendricks' enthusiasm about dating Coach. Eventually, Kevin reveals the truth to Marylin, prompting her to inform Marla, who is left heartbroken. Although Kevin and Marylin plan to date, they agree to wait until Marla heals. Meanwhile, Harper worries about the cheer team as they prepare for a key competition, but their new routine is overly provocative. The choreographer insists it can't be toned down, leading Harper to cancel the event. Despite the risks, Lisa and Buttle continue to push boundaries.
