A War on Convention (S01E02)

In the 1970s, Synanon has developed into a self-sustaining community with its own farm, school, and various enterprises. However, cracks start to appear in Chuck’s idealistic vision. As members are subjected to increasingly harsh rules—such as giving up smoking, distancing themselves from their children, and shaving their heads—many begin to reconsider the advantages and disadvantages of the decisions they are being compelled to accept.
