With Simone's health declining, Lt. Fancy urges the Uniformed Officers to remain vigilant for a suitable heart donor. Meanwhile, Simone’s coworkers try to distract themselves by investigating the gruesome murder of an elderly woman, discovered dismembered in her home. Among her two sons, one appears indifferent while the other is so strung out on drugs that he can't grasp the gravity of the situation. As tensions rise, Sipowicz's frustration leads to him getting into a brawl.
