In a quaint village south of Paris in 1789, Nicole Chamfort, a graduate student of Sydney and Nigel, is convinced that her ancestors were involved in a secret wedding just before the French Revolution. Tragically, the groom was killed by revolutionaries moments after the ceremony. If Nicole's theory holds, the bride’s illegitimate son could claim the de Bourdin family's legacy. With St. Agnes Sur-Loire facing imminent sale to developers, Sydney and Nigel must race against time to recover old church records, thought to have been destroyed by revolutionaries, as the developers will stop at nothing to thwart their efforts.
