During a book signing event, Hank finds himself in a heated confrontation with the frustrated director of the film adaptation of his novel. Later, he unexpectedly encounters a woman he previously embarrassed and insulted on a blind date. Meanwhile, Mia tries to pilfer some of Hank's writing to submit for her high school creative-writing class.
