Seven weeks following Alice's passing, Louise is still grieving and longs to return home as Karina confronts her with an ultimatum about the case. The circumstances surrounding Alice's death spark fresh suspicions, steering the investigation down a different path. Meanwhile, Peter Vinge is concentrating on his job at a nearby sawmill when Leif presents him with an unexpected opportunity.
