Overwhelmed with affection for Carmelita, freshly minted Senator Patrick Darling disregards Nick and Tripp's counsel and extends an invitation to her for his inauguration. In another twist, Chase breaks his pact with the Darlings, threatening to expose his claim that Patrick was responsible for his sister's death. Meanwhile, Jeremy discovers that Simon has taken charge of Nola's younger brother. As Andrea's condition worsens, Brian vows to God anything to restore her health. Lastly, Karen visits Nick’s apartment to reconcile, only to face a menacing intruder armed with a gun.
