Ken, Cleve, and Roma rally against a proposed initiative aimed at prohibiting gay individuals from employment in California's public schools. Meanwhile, Cleve dedicates his efforts to support Harvey Milk's campaign for San Francisco City Supervisor. However, as they engage in these battles, a devastating disease begins to claim the lives of gay men across the nation.
