During an experiment with a new ship alloy, Jessica Morgan and Gregory Swafford, who has a strong dislike for Transformers, unexpectedly discovered the ship carrying Optimus Prime and rescued him. Later, Jessica is injured in a fierce clash involving Protectobots, Technobots, and Terrorcons, prompting her father and Gregory to seek vengeance. They manipulate Optimus to draw the Autobots into a trap, where they infect them with Hate Spores, causing chaos among their ranks. As the virus begins to spread, Sky Lynx embarks on a quest to find a Quintesson capable of resurrecting Optimus.
