Back in California, Claire struggles to find her footing at college when the sudden death of a fellow student during orientation thrusts her into the center of attention again. In Japan, Hiro and Ando promote their services to assist those with special abilities. Meanwhile, Angela is anxious that Nathan/Syler may uncover his real identity. Matt aims to create a stable life for his son in Los Angeles while trying to avoid any surprises. In another part of town, Peter uses his powers for good, but the arrival of a mysterious carnival group, led by Samuel Sullivan, poses a potential threat to him and those around him.
