Amidst the chaos of the battlefield, the squad welcomes three fresh recruits who have just arrived from their cushy assignments in England. Gainsborough is a nervous, plump cook; Temple, a timid former ballet dancer; and Crown, a brash radio announcer whose bravado hides his apprehension. Despite his reservations, Saunders leads these unlikely allies on a perilous reconnaissance mission, ultimately realizing that their unique quirks and resourcefulness may be crucial for his survival in the field.
