Pilot (S01E01)

After 15 years of moving from one foster home to another in Portland, Oregon, Lux has made the bold decision to seek emancipation. Her quest through the legal system leads her to her biological parents: Cate Cassidy, a local radio host, and Nate "Baze" Bazile, who shared a brief fling during high school. Despite not having seen each other in over a decade, the old sparks of their tumultuous teenage relationship reignite. When a judge denies Lux's emancipation request and unexpectedly grants temporary joint custody to Cate and Baze, they must navigate their differences and work together to provide Lux the family she has longed for.
