The Anita Cobby Murder (S01E08)

In February 1986, nurse Anita Cobby, a former contestant in the Miss Australia pageant, is making her way home from Blacktown station in the outer-western suburbs of Sydney. Suddenly, a Holden sedan stops, and she is forcibly pulled inside. Taken to an isolated area, five young men take turns assaulting and brutalizing her. Tragically, her life ends when her throat is nearly severed, leaving her body abandoned in a field. The five perpetrators are apprehended and sentenced to life imprisonment, with their records marked as "never to be released." Amid this horrific event, Anita's grieving parents establish a support group for families of murder victims, providing solace and assistance to over 1,000 affected individuals.
