Jem is thrilled to star in Howard Sands' latest film, a reward for winning the Battle of the Bands with the Holograms. However, Pizzazz persuades her father to purchase the movie studio and hand control to Eric, who swiftly shifts the spotlight to the Misfits, relegating Jem and her friends to minor roles. Frustrated by the Misfits' antics, Jem, the Holograms, and Video decide to walk off the set. Just when things seem bleak, Jerrica receives devastating news about Ba Nee, the Starlight Girl, who has been diagnosed with a rare eye condition that will lead to her blindness in a few months.
