Caroline's promotion leads the family to relocate to a dilapidated farmhouse in Huddersfield just before Christmas. Alan finds himself having an awkward discussion with Gilian about his burial preferences. At the same time, Gilian becomes increasingly preoccupied with the concept of the afterlife, convinced that Eddie's spirit is haunting her.
