Brian successfully joins the cheerleading squad, but Lauren is left feeling down after not landing a role in the school play, which leads her to fret about her social standing. In an attempt to support their daughter, Bill and Judy visit the school, where Bill discovers that Lauren's drama teacher is a former classmate of his. Misinterpreting her intentions, Bill considers rejecting her advances. When Lauren’s role is eliminated from the production, Judy urges Bill to charm the teacher to reinstate her. Ultimately, Bill learns that his old crush is now a gay woman, and Lauren's casting issues have nothing to do with him.
