Meanwhile, Baines is encouraged to run for the Tories, prompting Tom to join the fray for some amusement. When Baines threatens to fire care worker Jenny, Diana is pressured to withdraw her candidacy. However, she cleverly turns the situation to her advantage, ensuring that Baines's political ambitions are derailed as well, marking the end of his career before it even begins.
