The Sheriff's Black Knights convene at the castle for a grand feast, pledging their loyalty to Prince John by signing the Great Pact of Nottingham. Disguised as performers, Robin Hood sneaks into the castle to ally with the one person capable of thwarting the plan: the Sheriff of Winchester, a former ally of Sheriff Edward. Control over Winchester's lands is crucial to the Sheriff's Shah Mat strategy, which aims to capture King Richard upon his return at the southern ports.
