Nevenka finds herself tormented by the mayor, who bombards her with calls—sometimes up to 30 a day—both at her job and at home. Overwhelmed and in despair, she escapes to Madrid, feeling utterly broken. However, after some time, she gathers the courage to take a stand and decides to pursue legal action against him.
