Thomas is tasked with transporting a firefighter to a medal ceremony in Maithwaite and seizes the opportunity to assist fellow engines along the route. However, his good intentions lead to a series of mishaps: Rocky accidentally knocks over a water tower, Harvey takes a wrong track, and Gordon loses track of Toby. Realizing his blunders, Thomas enlists Percy to fetch the firefighter while he sets things right. He stumbles upon Bertie, stranded in the mud, and offers to take the children to the ceremony. Thomas feels a true sense of heroism as he completes his mission.
