In this episode, we meet Roger Moore as Cousin Beauregard Maverick, known as Beau, who is seen as the "white sheep" of the Maverick clan due to his accidental heroism during the Civil War. Pappy had sent him to England for five years, as no Maverick was ever supposed to be a hero. Upon Beau's return to America, Bart Maverick enlists his help to pose as the son of the Marquis of Bognor, who has been indentured to a Wyoming ranch for six months. The cousins aim to make $4,000, but their plan takes a turn when Beau is kidnapped by someone seeking revenge against the Marquis.
