Dog finds himself juggling two very different cases. The first involves Darlene, a woman whose sister is eager to see her back in jail after her arrest for third-degree promotion. Although Dog wants to help Darlene turn her life around, he’s not too optimistic about the outcome. Meanwhile, on the eve of Dog's birthday, he must also track down Fred, a fugitive facing firearm charges. While the idea of pursuing an accused gunslinger on his special day isn’t appealing, Dog isn’t one to shy away from a challenge. Trusting his instincts about Fred being a mama's boy, he wonders if he’ll be proven right.
