One year prior to the Lutz family taking residence at 112 Ocean Ave, the DeFeo family is discovered dead from gunshot wounds in the same home under mysterious circumstances. Ronnie DeFeo Jr., the only survivor, becomes the prime suspect in the murders, but the investigation is complicated by rumored mob connections and supernatural speculation.
