Caerwent is recognized as the most well-preserved Roman town in Britain. Its layout follows a grid pattern and encompasses 20 blocks within sturdy walls that reach heights of up to five meters in certain areas. Earlier excavations have revealed a wealth of structures, including roads, temples, shops, baths, residential buildings, and villas, along with the forum and basilica, which served as the political hub of the town.
