Richmond Palace - Richmond, Surrey (S05E01)

Between July 25 and 27, 1997, the team sets up camp on a pristine suburban lawn by the Thames, eager to uncover the long-lost Richmond Palace, where Elizabeth I once passed away. However, its exact location remains a mystery. Under the guidance of landscape gardener Martin Whitaker, they begin excavating the lawn and soon discover signs of a significant Tudor structure. They are joined by palatial expert Simon Thurley and local historian John Cloake. Tudor specialist Hazel Forsyth teaches Carenza how to craft a pomander, while Maria Lis-Balchin uses garden plants to concoct an Elizabethan perfume. The property belongs to The Baron van Dedem.
