Maggie's home in Phoenix, Arizona, is overflowing due to her shopping obsession, forcing her granddaughter to sleep on top of clutter and bathe outside with a garden hose. The situation has escalated to the point where a family member intervened, taking both Maggie and her granddaughter away from the chaotic environment. If they don't tidy up, they won't be allowed back. Meanwhile, in South Carolina, former spa owner Ann faces the loss of her partner because of her relentless hoarding. After years of unfulfilled promises to declutter, her partner has reached his breaking point—it's time for Ann to clean up, or he will leave her for good.
