As summer comes to an end, the group learns that Todd is back in Sweet Valley. Liz is thrilled at first, but soon realizes he’s in a dark mood and troubled. Despite her efforts to lift his spirits, he ends their relationship. Later, she discovers that he was cut from the team. Meanwhile, Jess is set on guiding her team to triumph in the upcoming Beach Olympics, determined to outshine Bruce’s squad, even if it requires questionable methods. Additionally, Manny, having indulged in too much television over the break, begins fantasizing about Enid.
