As a newly recruited agent, Alex moves into a new apartment and takes on a cover job. She soon encounters her neighbor Nathan, who invites her to a gathering at his place. Despite Nikita's caution about getting too close to others, Alex finds it difficult to balance her responsibilities at Division with a desire for a typical life. Meanwhile, Nikita discovers that Division has secretly implanted a kill chip in Alex, prompting her to take action to regain control of it. During an interrogation of Birkhoff, Nikita shocks Ryan by disclosing a hidden truth.
