Two decades later, the next generation in Skidmore is shaken by two startling incidents. Wendy Gillenwater is brutally murdered, while Branson Perry mysteriously disappears from his house, both events occurring in the full light of day. Speculation runs rampant, yet, as has often been the case, no one appears to have any information.
