At a book signing, a young woman approaches Lightman, convinced she has witnessed a murder. Lightman discovers that she has multiple personalities, and he suspects that one of them may have seen the crime. Instead of assisting Agent Reynolds with a Supreme Court nominee, he opts to delve into the woman's case. The investigation is handed to Torres, who faces disrespect from the nominee due to her youth but decides to set aside her biases. As Lightman connects with the woman’s original personality, they uncover the true murderer. Meanwhile, Zoe tells Lightman she's relocating to Chicago to start a law firm, prompting him to buy out her share of The Lightman Group to support her new venture.
